In the autumn of 2008, Ryoji seized Paris: Exhibition at Le Laboratoire, concert video at Beaubourg and dressing of the Montparnasse tower in lights for Nuit Blanche. I watched him and when my work was finished, I started the portrait of this artist modest.
Tout au long de l'année 2008, j'ai travaillé aux côtés Ryoji Ikeda à la production des tirages géants (7 mètres de long) de son exposition « V#L» pour le Laboratoire. Installé au sous-sol, à manoeuvrer le traceur géant afin de trouver les bons réglages pour imprimer un nombre parfait et un nombre aléatoire de 10 millions de chiffres... Artiste sonore s'immergeant dans la logique mathématique pour une installation silencieuse. A l'automne 2008, Ryoji s'emparait de Paris : exposition au Laboratoire, concert vidéo à Beaubourg et habillage de la tour Montparnasse en lumières pour Nuit Blanche. Je l'ai observé et lorsque mon travail fut terminé, j'ai commencé le portrait de cet artiste pudique.
